About 1,500 National Grid Customers Lose Power Sunday in Stoughton

The power outage was confined to parts of Central St. and Bay Road in Stoughton.

About 12.5 percent of Stoughton's 12,000 National Grid customers was without power late Sunday afternoon/early Sunday evening, according to the outage map on the National Grid website.

The outages, which started just before 5:30 p.m. on July 15, were confined to the area around Central Street (Route 27) from West St. to the Sharon line at Cobbs Corner and parts of Bay Rd. from Cobbs Corner to Lakewood Dr., according to the outage map.

This outage impacted 1,451 customers, according to the National Grid site.

As of 8:15 p.m. on July 15, the outage map indicated power had been restored to all areas.

The outage was reportedly due to an "overhead power line failure."
