"Five Things you Need to Know This Weekend" is the weekend version of the Patch column "Five Things You Need to Know Today." The weekend edition provides readers with essential information for both Saturday and Sunday.

1. Get Your Oil Changed, Help the Stoughton Food Pantries

Every Saturday during the months of January and February, Windsor Tire and Island Street Auto will donate $10 to for every oil changed performed.

You can also participate by making a monetary donation or dropping off any non-perishable food items to either location.

The Doin' It For Diane Stoughton Food Pantry Fundraiser is supported by the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce and Copy Inks.

2. Police/Fire Play Charity Hockey Game

The and the will face off in a charity hockey game at the Ponkapoag (Metropolis) Ice Rink, on Rt. 138 in Canton on Saturday, February 25 at 7 p.m.

At 8 p.m., Canton will square off against Braintree.

All donations will go toward the Fisher House for returning veterans.

3. Little Theatre of Stoughton Presents Pinocchio

The Little Theatre of Stoughton's Young Directors Series presents Pinocchio, The Musical! Opening Night was Thursday, February 23. Additional shows will be held February 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m. and February 26 at 2 p.m.

Shows will be held at , 1179 Central Street in Stoughton.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for children, and $10 for seniors and are available at Page's Groceries & Liquors, and Bob Famous Food Mart.  They can also be ordered online at www.littletheatreofstoughton.org.

4. Meet the Candidate

(From About Town):

Bob O'Regan presents a "meet the candidate" breakfast on Sunday, February 26, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the , 837 Washington Street in Stoughton Center.

This free event features Live Jazz Music by "Bright Moments."

O’Regan says to come down and hear "about his vision for moving our town forward."

5. STOYAC Travel Basketball Schedule

The following STOYAC travel teams are home this week at the . Games are played Sunday, February 26. Admission is free.

  • 8:30 a.m. – 4th grade boys vs. Newton
  • 9:50 a.m. – 6th grade boys vs. Foxboro
  • 11:10 a.m. – 4th grade boys vs. Mansfield
  • 12:30 p.m. – 5th grade girls vs. Westwood
  • 1:50 p.m. – 7th grade girls vs. Easton
