1. School Committee Meeting

The Stoughton School Committee meets Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. The meeting starts at the School Committee meeting room at (near the auditorium and Superintendent's Office) and continues at 7 p.m. in the SHS Television Studio.

2. Sports on Tap

The Stoughton High boys' and girls' basketball teams take on King Philip Tuesday evening. The SHS varsity girls (6-4) host KP looking for their fourth straight win. The SHS varsity boys (9-1) travel to KP, also looking for their fourth straight win, in a battle of 9-1 teams.

• 3:30 p.m. - boys' freshman basketball at KP
• 3:30 p.m. - girls' freshman basketball vs. KP
• 5:00 p.m. - boys' JV basketball at KP
• 5:00 p.m. - girls' JV basketball vs. KP
• 6:30 p.m. - boys' varsity basketball at KP
• 6:30 p.m. - girls' varsity basketball vs. KP

3. New Tutor Training Orientation

If you have the time and the desire to help adult learners improve their literacy skills, the have an opportunity for you.

They run ongoing training sessions at the Library to assist you with strategies and techniques for being a tutor.

With just 18 hours of tutor training and a commitment to meet with a student 2 hours per week for a year, you could significantly improve the quality of someone’s life while providing and important community service.

There is a new tutor training orientation Tuesday January 24 from 10 – 11 a.m.at the (Wales French Room).
