Gallery: Patriots Take on Stoughton Police in Charity Basketball Game
The All-Pro Patriots Celebrity Basketball Team took on the Stoughton Police All-Stars in a charity game to benefit the Stoughton Police Relief Association.
Last year it was quarterback who led the Patriots to victory past the Stoughton Police with a barrage of three-pointers. In this year's game, with Hoyer absent, it was another of Tom Brady's backups, Ryan Mallett, who stole the show, using his height advantage (listed at 6'6") to get dunk after dunk.
The All-Pro Patriots Celebrity Basketball Team earned a 79-46 victory over the All-Stars Friday night, May 18, before a capacity crowd at the gymnasium. The game benefited the Stoughton Police Relief Association.
Aside from Mallett, current Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski, safety Patrick Chung, linebacker Dane Fletcher, free agent running back Kevin Faulk, and former players Steve DeOssie, Jermaine Wiggins and Patrick Pass suited up for the Patriots celebrity squad.

The Patriots took a 60-35 lead into the fourth, before coming away with the 33-point win, 79-46.
The Patriots had a well-balancd offense, but it was Mallett who led the way, with his ability to dunk the ball at will.
Yet, in true Patriots form, the second-year pro from Arkansas proved to be versatile, showing some range from beyond the arc as well. Late in the fourth quarter, with Mallett unable to convert on a series of layups and putbacks, he grabbed his own rebound for the fourth time, dribbled behind the three-point line and sank a three-pointer in front of his bench, scoring the final points of the evening for the Patriots.
David scored first for the police, midway through the first quarter. Bonney played well for the SPD, with a number of slick moves on the court. Rockwell did the Chief proud with his effort on the floor. And Isabel, a SPD rookie, hit a three-pointer, and played some suffocating defense.
The game featured several light-hearted moments, with Wiggins having a young fan dunk for him in the second quarter. Nine-year-old Matthew Snyder took a pair of free throw shots and Chief Shastany also got to try his luck at the charity stripe.
Halftime featured a 20-minute autograph session where the Patriots players and the Stoughton Police signed autographs.
With the win, the All-Pro Patriots Celebrity Basketball Team finishes its charity circuit a perfect 10-0.
