Human Remains Found Not Contained In Coffin In Stoughton Cemetery
The origin of the remains, the identity of the person, and the cause and manner of that person's death are under investigation.

STOUGHTON, MA — Workers digging a grave at Dry Pond Cemetery came across what they believe is a set of human remains not contained in a coffin Wednesday, according to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office.
Authorities excavated the remains Friday and transported them to the office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Boston, officials said.
The origin of the remains, the identity of the person, the cause and manner of that person’s death, as well as how the remains became buried at Dry Pond Cemetery are all unknown and under active investigation, according to officials.
