Longtime Stoughton Artist Opens New Teaching Studio in Town
Steven Leahy is opening a private teaching studio at the Felos Memorial Art Center.

Award winning artist and author announced the opening of his first private teaching studio at the on Route 27 in Stoughton.
The studio will officially open on Saturday, June 30 with the first group class entitled "Introduction to Airbrush."

Leahy, a lifelong Stoughton resident, will bring his 20 years of art and teaching experience to create a truly custom lesson environment.
“The goal for the studio is to offer each student an individually tailored syllabus that will allow them to reach their specific artistic goals. Students can study everything from composition, color, various media including the airbrush, to high school portfolio preparation. The very popular “Intro to Airbrush” group class will be held every month as well," Leahy explains.

Leahy is a photorealistic airbrush artist who specializes in working with waterborne paints. He received his Bachelor of Fine Art degree from the University of Massachusetts.
He is the author of ‘How Airbrushes Work’, published by Wolfgang Publication, and his works have been published in Airbrush Action, Naval Aviation News, and Airbrush Technique Magazines. Leahy also served as a lead instructor at the Airbrush University in Easton Massachusetts.
In addition to having his work commissioned by the United States Navy and Warner Brothers Publishing, Leahy has garnered awards from the National Association of Acrylic Painters, the American Association of Aviation Artists, and the Experimental Aircraft Association.
He has also displayed pieces at the Society of Illustrators Annual exhibit. In his current work, he is exploring in- depth, complex still life subjects on many types of surfaces, from prepared board, canvas and titanium, to custom bike painting.
