Man Stabbed in Stoughton Wednesday Evening

A man in his early 40s was stabbed on York St. and was transported to Boston Medical Center.

A man in his early 40s was stabbed late Wednesday evening on York St. in Stoughton, according to Lt. Fran Wohlgemuth of the . 

The incident occurred at 245 York St. at 10:44 p.m. on May 16. The suspect is at-large.

The male victim was stabbed on his left side, below the ribs, Lt. Wohlgemuth said.

The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center via ground transport because a MedFlight was not available, Lt. Wohlgemuth said.

A suspect has not been identified at this time. Lt. Wohlgemuth said the incident is under investigation.

Authorities did not find a weapon at the scene. 

Lt. Wohlgemuth said police are not sure of the circumstances which led to the stabbing.

"The victim is not being overly cooperative so that's hampering our efforts," Executive Officer Robert Devine added Thursday morning.
