Massachusetts Sales Tax Holiday This Weekend, August 11-12

A two-day sales tax holiday in Massachusetts is set for this weekend, Saturday, August 11, and Sunday, August 12.

The tax holiday will lift the 6.25 percent levy on most items selling for less than $2,500 this weekend.

Excluded from the tax holiday are restaurant meals, cars, motorboats, tobacco and any item that costs more than $2,500.

Since 2004, the State Legislature has approved a two-day tax holiday in Massachusetts every year, with the exception of 2009.
