Police, Fire Respond to Medical Emergency at Cedar Hill Golf Course in Stoughton

A male patient was transported from Cedar Hill to Good Samaritan in Brockton Friday morning.

Stoughton Police and Fire responded to a life-threatening medical emergency Friday morning, July 6 at on Park St., which resulted in the transport of a male patient to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, according to SFD Captain Scott Breen.

The SFD received a call of a man down at the third hole at Cedar Hill, Breen said.

Police arrived on scene first and initiated care to the male patient in distress, with the fire department arriving soon thereafter.

Breen said "everything went well [and] smoothly."

No update on the patient's condition was available.

Interim Town Manager Joseph Feaster was actually meeting with firefighters at the time of the call, as part of his meet and greet with town employees, and accompanied Breen to the scene as a result.

"It gave him a good perspective as to what we do," Breen said.

Jody Smith, the manager at Cedar Hill, thanked the police and fire departments for their rapid response.

"The first 2 police officers that arrived did a great job. You couldn't put it into words their responses and quick action they took. When the fire dept. arrived everyone stepped up and handled the situation without missing a beat," he wrote in an email.

"As a town employee and a Stoughton resident we should all be thankful for the job these 2 [departments] do."
