Police Log: Firework Thrown Onto Mahoney Avenue Lawn
The following information was provided by the Stoughton Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction.

Monday, Sept. 1
At 1:18 a.m., a caller reported to Stoughton Police that someone had rung his door bell at his home on Atkinson Avenue. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone suspicious.
At 10:23 a.m., police received a report of an allegedly stolen vehicle from the Seaver Street area, and subsequently issued a summons to a 41-year-old Stoughton man for use of a motor vehicle without authority.

At 12:01 p.m., a caller from Kohl’s Department Store reported to police that a man had been recording a video in the dressing room. Officers responded to the store but the person was reportedly gone on arrival.
At 2:53 p.m., police received a report of shoplifting at Kohl’s; officers issued a summons to a Randolph woman for shoplifting of more than $100 by asportation.

Tuesday, Sept. 2
At 6:44 a.m., a caller reported to police that he had been involved in a minor car accident near CVS on Central Street, and that a vehicle hit his back tire. No damage was reported to either vehicle.
At 7:51 p.m., police responded to the area of Washington and Rose Glen streets on a report of a dirt bike driving on the sidewalk. Officers stopped a rider and charged a 21-year-old Stoughton man for failure to stop for a police officer while operating a motor vehicle and for negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
Wednesday, Sept. 3
At 12:45 p.m., police received a report of a suspicious-looking pickup truck and a running generator next to Rockland Trust on Washington Street. Officers responded and found that the building was being refurbished for an incoming business.
At 5:17 p.m., a caller reported that a dog was in a vehicle near LA Fitness on Hawes Way and looked to be in distress. Officers responded and the vehicle was gone upon arrival.
At 5:19 p.m., officers responded to Randolph Savings on Pleasant Street on a report of a suspicious male who was seen trying to enter all doors of the bank. Officers spoke with the person, and reported that he checked out okay.
At 9:23 p.m., a caller reported that someone threw something on his lawn on Mahoney Avenue and that it caught fire. Officers responded and reported that it appeared a firework had been thrown on the lawn.
