“We had two polar opposite games. In the first game we played Quincy we played perfect defense—not an error—and had just enough offense to get the win in extra innings,” Sullivan said.

“[The rematch] was the exact opposite. We had plenty of offense. We did our job…Defensively we had a tremendous letdown. Every one of their runs was unearned. If we played even average defense we would have been fine today.”

Bisbee and Angelos led the offensive charge for Stoughton, reaching every time they were up at bat. Bisbee went 3 for 3 with a pair of singles to go along with the home run. Angelos was a perfect 4 for 4 with a double and three singles.

Emily Cramer had 4 strikeouts on the mound.

Angelos scored the first two runs of the game (one each in the first and third innings) giving Stoughton a 2-0 lead.

With Quincy ahead 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh, Stoughton had runners on first and second with two outs, but the Presidents got out of the jam to hold on for the win.

After , Stoughton will look to bounce back this upcoming week with games at North Attleboro, vs. Sharon and at Canton.

“If you asked me before the season would I be happy to be 4-4 at this point, I would have said yes because we’ve played some tough competition,” Sullivan said.

“We’re doing well; we’re improving game by game. I hope [the defensive miscues are] just kind of an anomaly."
