Retrial For Stoughton Murder Case Delayed Again
The retrial for John M. Rooney has been pushed back until March.

The retrial for a man accused of stabbing another man to death in Stoughton in 2010 has been delayed once again, Wicked Local is reporting.
John M. Rooney, 51, of Randolph, will be retried starting on Mar. 15, 2016.
Prosecutors say Rooney stabbed Georgios Kontsas to death inside his Stoughton home with a 12-inch serrated blade after he tried to fight him off.

Rooney was tried in 2014, but a mistrial was declared in July after the jury could not reach a unanimous decision on the verdict.
The retrial was originally scheduled for Jun. 1 of this year. However, it was pushed back to Jan. 4, 2016, when the defense attorney wasn’t available. Now it has been delayed again after, David Traub, a spokesman for Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey, said the court asked to push the date back.
