Stoughton Police Make Arrests for Drunk Driving, Underage Alcohol Possession

Drunk Driving

  • Edward L. Diggs, 56, of Jefferson Ct. in Stoughton, was charged with drunk driving (OUI liquor) and for a marked lanes violation following a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Lincoln St. and Pleasant St. in Stoughton at 1:33 a.m. on July 7. 
  • Matthew A. Leonard, 29, of Holbrook, was charged with drunk driving (OUI liquor), possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, operating a motor vehicle negligently to endanger, marked lanes violation, and speeding following a motor vehicle stop on Central Street at 2:45 a.m. on July 3.

Underage Alcohol Possession

Stoughton Police received a call shortly after 4 p.m. on July 2 reporting that a juvenile attempted to steal three bottles of liquor. 

A 15-year-old ended up being charged with possessing liquor under the age of 21 and with larceny.

Assault & Battery

A caller reported to police at 1:01 p.m. on July 5 that her "son's girlfriend beat her up."

Susan Allen, 20, of Seaver St. in Stoughton was charged with assault and battery.

Shoplifting

Two females from Norwood -  Sarah E. Sorenson, age 22, and Christy Durant, age 21 - were both charged with shoplifting more than $100 by concealing merchandise at Kohl's in Stoughton the afternoon of July 3.
