STOUGHTON, MA — Special Olympic athlete and Stoughton resident Shawn Barton was signed by the New England Revolution and Special Olympics Massachusetts to their 2021 Unified Team at Gillette Stadium.The signing is part of the organizations' partnership with Special Olympics Massachusetts designed to use sports as an environment for inclusion and friendly competition.In partnership with Arbella Insurance, the Revs signed Special Olympics athletes at the seventh annual Unified Team signing day on August 17. All 13 members of the 2021 Revolution Unified Team reside in Massachusetts and signed their contracts at Gillette Stadium.Play Unified soccer returns to Gillette Stadium on Saturday, September 18, when the Revolution Unified Team hosts the Andover Stars Unified Team following New England's MLS match against the Columbus Crew.
