Stoughton Warehouse Highlighted By MA Group For Development

MassEcon updated its ReadyMass 100 list with 10 new sites, including one in Stoughton.

STOUGHTON, MA — An industrial site in Stoughton, that was one home of a shipping box manufacturer, was added on Tuesday to MassEcon's Ready 100 list, which serves as a sort-of advertisement for companies looking to expand in Massachusetts.

The former Northern Container Corporation factory, located at 139 Shuman Drive, has been left vacant. The company moved to a new building in Holbrook. The 265,000 square-foot warehouse was used to make corrugated boxes for companies across New England.

"Each of the ReadyMass 100 properties has been rigorously evaluated by a team of real estate experts in concert with our state partners and is certified for immediate occupancy or development," MassEcon says of the list. "The properties have met key criteria relating to infrastructure, permitting, size and readiness."

The Ready Mass 100 list has drawn several large economic development projects to the state, including an Amazon robotics lab in Westborough, and the Candela Medical headquarters in Marlborough.
