Three Stoughton Residents Cross Boston Marathon Finish Line Before Explosions End Race

Of the 12 runners from Stoughton in this year's Boston Marathon, three crossed the finish line, according to the Boston Athletic Association.

The marathon was cut short when two explosions erupted near the finish line, killing at least three and injuring over 100, WHDH reported. Runners who had not yet crossed the finish line were diverted. The two explosions happened at approximately 2:50 p.m. when the marathon clock read 4:09.

Stoughton runners Greg Swartz, James White and Barry Sussman had already crossed the finish line prior to the explosions.

Swartz, 51, finished with a time of 3:12:29 - 4,222 overall and 3,810 in his gender.

White, 32, finished with a time of 3:38:21 - 10,771 overall and 7,668 in his gender.

Sussman, 47, finished with a time of 3:39:48 - 11,210 overall and 7,870 in his gender.

Residents Lisa Andrews, Christy Ciccariello, William Coulter, Nicole Floro, Michael Griffiths, Nicole Jacobs, Joseph Rossi, Jamal Stephens, and Stuart Weiner did not have reported times from the Boston Athletic Association.
