Seeking Compassionate Person to Work with a Disabled Young Man

Position: Family Support Skills Trainer

This role involves providing 1:1 support to a 20-year-old individual diagnosed with Autism, currently enrolled in a school-based program. The Skills Trainer will work directly in the family’s home and community, helping the individual build independence and participate in meaningful leisure and recreational activities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Providing individualized assistance and instruction in the home and community

Supporting participation in recreational and leisure activities

Helping carry over skills learned in the school environment

Collaborating with the family and following family-initiated, supervised goals

Identifying and facilitating appropriate community activities

Working consistently with the same individual each week

Hours: 3–10 hours per week, depending on availability. The compensation rate would be between $23-$25 per hour.

This is an excellent hands-on learning opportunity for students interested in gaining experience with developmental disabilities, autism support, or community-based service delivery.
