SUDBURY, MA — Independence Day falls on a Friday in 2025, kicking off a star-spangled three-day weekend packed with fireworks, festivals and other Fourth of July fun in and around Sudbury.

To help you fit it all in on your 4th of July calendar, Patch has put together a guide to what’s going on in Sudbury and the surrounding areas.

Sudbury Chamber of Commerce 4th of July Parade

Where: Chiswick Park
When: noon on July 4

The Sudbury Fourth of July Parade is a long-standing tradition in the town of Sudbury, dating back to 1939.

The parade is rain or shine unless there is thunder or lightning.

The parade kicks off from Chiswick Park, follows Union Ave to Route 20 to Concord Road, and ends at Town Hall.

Walkers, bike riders, float makers, and musicians are all welcome.

Judging for the floats will begin at noon.

All floats need to be in position by noon and must incorporate the current theme into the overall design to be eligible for an award.

Stars & Stripes Over Framingham

Where: Farm Pond Park
When: June 27, 5 to 10 p.m.

The city's annual fireworks display at Farm Pond is back this year.

The event is on June 27 at Farm Pond Park from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. featuring entertainment, food and the fireworks show.

Food trucks and vendors will be on hand at the event, but residents are able to bring their own food as well.

Independence Day commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. In that document, the 13 original colonies declared their independence from Great Britain.
