Madelon Angelica Kollaard-Varg, Worked in the Travel Industry, Passes Away at 61

Kollaard-Vargo died after a long battle with multiple myeloma. Services are this week.

SUDBURY, MA -- Madelon Angelica Kollaard-Vargo, 61, of Sudbury died on Sunday, December 27, 2015, at Spaulding Hospital in Cambridge after a long battle with multiple myeloma.

She was born on November 3, 1954, in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles. Mrs. Kollaard-Vargo worked for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines before moving to Boston in 1978. She was a graduate of Boston University and had worked in the travel industry. She was a resident of Chestnut Hill for fifteen years until moving to Sudbury in 1993.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Peter J. Vargo; two sons, Andrew Vargo and his fiancé Kimberley of Portsmouth, NH, Robert Vargo of Cincinnati, OH; her mother, Dingena (Unger) Kollaard of Newton; two siblings, Hans Kollaard and his wife Susan of Weston, Yolanda Heydari and her husband Masood of CA; nieces and nephews, Michael, Christopher and Nicholas Kollaard of Weston, Alexander and Amanda Heydari of CA, Antonio and Lisa Mastrangelo; sister-in-law, Pamela Mastrangelo and her husband Rocky of Sandwich.

She was predeceased by her father, Machiel Kollaard, by her sister, Mariska Kollaard; also by her parents-in-law, John and Evelyn Vargo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 10:00AM at St. Anselm Church, 100 Landham Road, Sudbury. Burial at The Gardens of Gethsemane in West Roxbury will be private.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-8PM at the Duckett-J. S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road, Sudbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
