Toy Drives In Sudbury: How To Make The Holidays Merry For Everyone

SUDBURY, MA — While you’re checking off holiday gifts for family members, don’t forget the kids who aren’t on anyone’s shopping list and pick up some items for toy drives in Sudbury.

One of the most well-known toy drives is the Toys for Tots campaign, led by the Marine Corps Reserves. Since 1947, Toys for Tots drives across the country have collected 708 million toys, distributed to 314 million children.

Toys for Tots is organized locally by the Sudbury Fire Department.

New, unwrapped gifts may be donated at:

• Sudbury Fire Headquarters – 77 Hudson Rd.
• Sudbury Fire Station 2 – 550 Boston Post Rd.

Other community collection sites include:

• Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Stephan Real Estate – 400 Boston Post Rd.
• CJ’s Gourmet Pizza & Grill – 29 Hudson Rd.
• Hair Salon – 615 Boston Post Rd.
• Lavender Asian Cuisine & Bar – 519 Boston Post Rd.
• Sudbury Senior Center – 40 Fairbank Rd.
• The Performing Arts Connection – 31 Union Ave.
• The Wayside Inn – 72 Wayside Inn Rd.
• Town Line Hardware – 84 Boston Post Rd.

Donations are accepted until Dec. 12.

Last year in Middlesex and Essex Counties, 106,389 toys were distributed to 104,553 children who might not otherwise have gotten any Christmas gifts.

In addition to dropping off new, unwrapped toys at several drop-off locations, people who want to support the campaign can also donate online.

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, an IRS-recognized nonprofit public charity created in 1991, uses 97 percent of every donation to buy toys for children in need.

2. Hopesudbury HOPE for the Holidays Gift Drive
   1. Accepting unwrapped and labeled gifts at SED Main Office (address will be shared with donors directly) on Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or Dec. 9, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
