• Franklin County Career & Technical Institute celebrates 37 adult grads (recorder.com) — A Sunderland resident, Aleks Carey, is among 37 adults who just completed intensive evening trade programs at the Franklin County Career & Technical Institute, gaining skills in building maintenance, electrical work, automotive technology, and welding. The free, grant-funded training, run with MassHire, drew students from across the region and honored several graduates for perseverance, craftsmanship, and community spirit.
   

• Though disbanded after 42 years, Pelham Lions Club's work lives on through Sidney F. Smith Toy Fund (gazettenet.com) — Sunderland families with children ages 1 to 14 are eligible for $65 toy vouchers through the long-running Sidney F. Smith Toy Fund, alongside other southern Franklin County towns. The fund, supported for decades by the now-disbanded Pelham Lions Club, helps low- and moderate-income families across Hampshire and nearby counties and can be used at a range of participating toy and book stores in the Valley.
