After Tierney's Loss, Warren to Back Moulton on Saturday
U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) will endorse Seth Moulton (D-Salem) in the Sixth District race for Congress.

Elizabeth Warren, the senior Senator from Massachusetts, endorsed fellow Democrat U.S. Rep. John Tierney of Salem before the primary election earlier this month.
But Tierney was defeated and will leave Congress as the end of his term after serving for 18 years. On Saturday, Warren plans to be at an event in Lynn where she will endorse Tierney’s former rival, Seth Moulton, a Democrat from Salem who grew up in Marblehead.
The endorsement is officially planned to happen at 1 p.m. at Tatiana’s Restaurant, 70 Mark St. in Lynn, according to Carrie Rankin, press secretary for Moulton.

In a mailer sent out before the primary, Warren called Tierney “a real fighter for the middle class” and, at the time, said she was proud to endorse Tierney. The mailer also included a large picture of Tierney and Warren together in Salem.
On Saturday, though, Warren will detail her support for Moulton in a three-way race for the Sixth District seat in Congress versus Republican Richard Tisei of Wakefield and independent Chris Stockwell of Marblehead.

The Sixth District includes 39 cities and towns on the North Shore and north of Boston, stretching from Salisbury and Newburyport in the north to Lynn and Swampscott in the south. From east to west, it stretches from Rockport to Bedford, and includes Beverly, Danvers, Gloucester, Marblehead, Peabody and Salem.
Moulton has already received the backing of Gov. Deval Patrick and Salem Mayor Kimberley Driscoll, who had both stayed out of the race before the primary and endorsed Moulton three days after his primary win.
