Swampscott Water Main Break Disrupts Service, Traffic to Marblehead, Lynn

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — A water main break on Humphrey Street disrupted service in several areas throughout Swampscott and caused traffic delays getting to Marblehead and Lynn on Friday morning.

Swampscott crews were working to restore low or absent water supply to the town following the break on Humphrey Street near Bates Road.

Swampscott police said traffic in the area was reduced to one lane for both Lynn- and Marblehead-bound traffic.

"We encourage everyone to seek alternate routes to avoid delays," police said.
