It's a little late for a discussion (meeting this Wednesday at the high school) about the impact of traffic in this area when it will be opening up pretty soon. I remember when they did the traffic study during COVID and said the impact would be minimal. How convenient on the timing of that! Basically, I talked to the zoning board about hours of operation on the roof top deck and they said there were no established rules of operation. The Wescott had a blank slate and I was told if there were issues of late night noise, the board would then take up the issue after the fact. I also mentioned to a BOS member about the probable issues and was told that was before their time being on the board.

My impression is the town is checking off a box because this satisfies the MBTA zoning mandate. It basically means were stuck with this mess on this side of town; a 114 unit project with 50 onsite parking spots and another 35 in Paradise's storage area. Lets not forget the commercial businesses located on the first floor either. 85 parking spots total for a 114 unit building with retail stores means parking will overflow into the neighborhoods. The traffic, parking and congestion will increase and just remember there are 3 projects on the board in town that will be coming, Stop and Shop, the Glover and Pine Street. How many more developments can we squeeze in 3 square miles for living and then deal with traffic going thru the town from 2 cities? Makes you go hmm and makes you wonder who benefits in the long run?
