Egging, Assault at a Party, Open Cemetery Chapel Door Reported on Halloween

The Swampscott Police Department log from Halloween.

Saturday, Oct. 31

At 6:17 a.m., the state DPW was notified that the traffic light at the mall access road was not functioning properly.

At 10:47 a.m., an officer found an open door at the cemetery chapel while making a routine check. The officer didn’t notice anything amiss and was able to secure the door.

At 3:57 p.m., a caller reported a loose dog running on Sheridan Street.

At 8:12 p.m., someone noticed a fire pit burning on what the caller suspected could be public property. An officwer checked on the situation and found it was on private property and the individuals were planning to put it out shortly.

At 10:03 p.m., a resident reported a loud group was gathering in front of his residence.

At 10:04 p.m., a caller reported that eggs were being thrown in the area of Atlantic and Bradlee.

At 10:31 p.m., a man came into the station and reported that he was assaulted by another man as he tried to leave a party on Bradlee. The man said the other man pulled him out of a vehicle by his neck and threw him on the ground.

At 11:37 p.m., a caller said a large group was causing a disturbance on Deer Cove Road. The group was dispersed by police.
