Elderly Woman Bitten By Bat

The following information was provided by the Swampscott Police. Where charges are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Swampscott Police log:

Monday, Nov. 7

  • At 9:32 a.m. stolen medication was reported on Humphrey Street.
  • At 5:22 p.m. a resident told police there were suspicious cars on Forest Avenue. Police found the cars belonged to people attending baseball practice.

  • Police received a complaint at 3:29 p.m. that a Morton Hill Ave. resident was running a garage out of their home.

Wednesday, Nov. 9

  • A resident of Greenway Way reported she was hearing noises in the house at 9:30 a.m.. It turned out to be her pet.
  • At 8:32 p.m. a Paradise Road employee reported being threatened by a customer.

Thursday, Nov. 10

  • Animal Control was notified of two dogs running in the street at 8:53 a.m. on Pleasant Street.
  • At 10:42 a.m. a stolen storm drain cover was reported on Fuller Avenue.
  • At 10:49 a.m. police responded to Middlesex Avenue for a report of a tattered suitcase on the picnic table. Police found the item to be trash.

Friday, Nov. 11

  • A person turned int ammunition at 11:45 a.m.
  • At 1:58 p.m. a Paradise Road bank told police a suspicious man came in and then left and was sitting in a white van in the parking lot. Police did not locate the man.
  • At 4:40 p.m. a resident of Blaney Street reported they were bit by their neighbor's dog.

Saturday, Nov. 12

  • A Redington Street resident reported an "out of place" man, possibly drunk, walking down the street at 1:15 a.m. The man had been locked out of his home.
  • At 10:51 a.m. a bird was found on a porch of a home on Burrill Street.

Sunday, Nov. 13

  • Police received a call about a dog that was possibly hit by a car on Stetson Ave. at 8:13 a.m. The dog was taken to Marblehead Animal Shelter.
  • At 8:32 a.m. water was reported to be coming from the water tower. DPW was notified.
  • At 1:32 p.m. a resident complained about their neighbor power sanding their boat in the backyard on Essex Street.
  • At 7:01 p.m. police received a call from witnesses about a man chasing after a woman and grabbing her. The woman was transported to the hospital with chest pains and the man was arrested.

Monday, Nov. 14

  • At 1:15 p.m. a fire was reported on the woods near the Girl Scout lodge.
  • At 7:50 p.m. a 86-year-old woman was reported missing. Reverse 911 was used and several residents reported seeing her throughout the day. 
  • At 9:31 p.m. a father told police he was concerned his 15-year-old daughter was having relations with her 17-year-old boyfriend. An officer spoke to the man's daughter and she denied it.
  • At 10:56 p.m. an elderly woman was transported to the hospital after being bitten by a bat in her home.

 

The following people were arrested:

  • Alejandro Cuevas, 52, 47 Collins St, Apt: 4, Lynn, was arrested Tuesday, Nov. 8, and charged with driving with a suspended license, two warrants on drug charges and speeding.
  • Brian K Soderquist, 19, 10 Wampum Road, Norton, was arrested Thursday, Nov. 10, and charged with possession of a class D substance and a light violation.
  • Patrick Ryan Traverse, 18, 3 Brookwood Ln, Norton, was arrested Friday, and charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, carrying a knife with a blade longer than 2 1/2 inches and possession of class D substance.
  • Michael V Litvak, 69, 406 Paradise Road, was arrested and charged with three counts of domestic assault and battery and one count of disorderly conduct. 
  • Christopher Daniel Sweeney, 20, 21 Middlesex Ave., was arrested on a warrant.
  • Marilyn Conley, 22, 145 Essex St., was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery and assault with a dangerous weapon.
