Excessive Heat Warning: Swampscott To Open Cooling Centers, Loan ACs

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott has opened cooling centers and is offering a limited number of air conditioners for loan as this week's heat dome will send temperatures near 100 degrees.

The Senior Center and Swampscott Public Library will be open on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday during normal business hours for those in need of air conditioning. The cooling centers will be closed on Wednesday for the Juneteenth Holiday, but residents in need are invited to come to the Swampscott Police Station from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A limited number of portable air conditioners are available to borrow from the Library, at 781-596-8867, or the Fire Department, at 781-595-4040.
Swampscott residents are asked to check on the well-being of neighbors, friends and family who have medical conditions and are advised to stay hydrated.
