SWAMPSCOTT, MA — It was a moment to reflect and remember in Swampscott as the final fourth-grade class graduated last week and students attended class for the final time Thursday at the school that opened in 1911.

The school and grounds are being redesigned as a future boutique hotel as the town prepares to consolidate grades kindergarten through fourth grade at the new elementary school nearing completion.

Teachers cheered students as they entered the building for the final school day of the year.
