Former Principal Could Face 'Additional Administrative Actions' by Swampscott Schools
Former Swampscott High Principal Ed Rozmiarek allegedly had inappropriate conversations online with a person he believed to be 13 years old.

Swampscott Public Schools announced Thursday that it is continuing to look into administrative actions related to former Swampscott High School Principal Edward Rozmiarek.
Rozmiarek was placed on administrative leave on Dec. 7; one week later, he resigned. At the time of Rozmiarek’sresignation, Swampscott Superintendent Pamela Angelakis said it had come to her attention that Rozmiarek had engaged in conduct she ”deemed inappropriate” on his school-issued computer.
A newly released Beverly Police Department report revealed that Rozmiarek allegedly engaged in sexually explicit conversations with a person he believed to be a 13-year-old girl. The alleged victim was in reality a decoy with the organization “Perverted Justice.” That organization provided screenshots and information about the interactions with Rozmiarek to Beverly police, who then searched his Beverly home.

Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett said in a statement that Rozmiarek’s alleged actions were “repugnant,” but did not cross a threshold into criminal behavior and no charges would be pressed.
In a letter sent home to parents Thursday, however, Swampscott Superintendent Pamela Angelakis said the district is continuing to pursue “additional administrative actions” related to the issue.

She also assured parents, as she did with her earlier letters on the matter, that the safety of students has been the district’s primary concern.
“As soon as we were notified about the potential allegations, we immediately took steps to make sure that the allegations involved no Swampscott students or other employees, to place Mr. Rozmiarek on an immediate administrative leave of absence, and to further ensure that he not be allowed on any school grounds by taking out a ’no trespass’ order with the Swampscott Police Department,” the letter reads.
Angelakis said the district finds the allegations “totally repugnant and disgusting,” but that “all public employees have rights that must be adhered to and respected” and she would not be making any further comment on the situation pending additional administrative actions.
