Governor-Elect's Son to Make Local Radio Appearance Saturday

A.J. Baker is a junior wide receiver for the Union College football team and son of Governor-elect Charlie Baker of Swampscott.

The son of Governor-elect Charlie Baker, A.J., will be a featured guest on the North Shore Sports Desk radio show on Saturday morning.

North Shore Sports Desk airs weekly from 8-9 a.m. on North Shore 104.9 FM. On Saturday, Nov. 8, A.J. Baker is scheduled to be on at about 8:30 a.m.

A.J. Baker is a Union College football player and 2012 Swampscott High School graduate. On the show, he will be talking about his season at wide receiver and also “about being part of the next first family of Massachusetts,” according to Swampscott resident Dom Nicastro, who hosts the show with Gloucester resident Nick Curcuru, who form the team of “Nic & Nick.”

A.J.’s father, Charlie, a Republican from Swampscott, was elected Massachusetts governor in Tuesday’s election. He will take office in January.

A.J. Baker “impressed both as a receiver and also on punt returns,” according to his Union College biography and improved in both areas this fall. The coaching staff said that he should be “one of the key wideouts moving forward.”

This fall, in eight games for Union, he had 412 receiving yards with four touchdowns.
