Ice Cream Truck Dispute; Suspended License Arrest: Swampscott Police

Friday, April 1

At 8:16 a.m., a motor vehicle window was smashed on Columbia Street.

At 9:49 a.m., police arrested Wayne Destefano, 52, of Daniel Terrace in Peabody was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and an unregistered motor vehicle.

At 11:05 a.m., a caller on Salem Street reported that her gardener found a crowbar in the area of a recent breaking and entering attempt.

At 1:55 p.m., the operator of an ice cream truck at Orchard and Whitman Roads reported that another ice cream truck was occupying several spaces and attempting to block him from operating his ice cream truck. Officers were dispatched to keep the ice cream truck peace.

At 3:03 p.m., there was a report of a motor vehicle that was struck in a parking lot on Essex Street.

Saturday, April 2

At 12:16 a.m., there was a complaint of a loud party on Shaw Road.
