Interim Principal Named for Swampscott High School

Frank Kowalski came to the district in 2007 as the athletic director/dean of students.

Swampscott Superintendent Pamela Angelakis announced Thursday that Frank Kowalski has been named interim principal of Swampscott High School.

His term is effective Jan. 6-June 30.

“Mr. Kowalski is eager to accept this position and with his experience at the high school I feel confident that his leadership for the remainder of the school year will be a smooth transition,” Angelakis said in the release.

Kowalski was hired in 2007 as the athletic director/dean of students and was appointed as an assistant principal in 2010, according to a press release.

“I am humbled and honored by this opportunity to lead Swampscott High School for the remainder of the school year,” Kowalski said in the release. “I want to thank Superintendent Pamela Angelakis for her support and belief in me. This is an amazing town and I look forward faith by working with our tremendous educators and students.”

Kowalski’s appointment comes in the wake of the abrupt resignation of former principal Edward Rozmiarek in December following allegations of “inappropriate conduct” on his school-issued computer.
