Late-Night Doorbell, Fall from a Ladder, Loitering Men: Police Log

At 2:39 a.m., a woman was awoken by her doorbell ringing, but there was no one at the door. She requested to speak with an officer. It was discovered to be a possible issue with a malfunctioning doorbell.

At 2:36 p.m., a caller reported that four or five men were loitering on a stoop and refusing to leave; the caller also said that they were parked in a handicapped spot. Police found the group to be with the gas company.

At 5:18 p.m., a woman fell off a ladder in her front hallway. She was able to open the door for responders; she was transported to the hospital.
At 5:33 p.m., police arrested James McGovern, 33, of Salem following a motor vehicle stop. A query of the license plate revealed it had an expired inspection sticker. McGovern was also found to have several warrants out of Salem for traffic related offenses.
