Marblehead PD Looking For Info On Stranger Incident

Police are looking for information regarding a man who started a conversation with a young child on Wednesday.

MARBLEHEAD, MA – Marblehead Police are looking for information regarding an incident on Wednesday near the Old Railroad Right of Way. Around 4:30 p.m., an unknown man possibly in his 40s began speaking to a 10-year-old boy, police said in a Facebook post. The post was clear that the man wasn't inappropriate with the child, but said some things that didn't add up.

According to the post, the man asked if he could play ball with the boy, and as they were playing, the man said he knew some boys on the baseball team, and had seen him play baseball a week or two ago. Police said the names of the boys he provided were wrong, and the baseball game he mentioned had been canceled due to weather.

"The comments concerning the boy’s baseball team and the fact that he was a stranger speaking to a young child who was outside alone, is what was concerning to the parents and now to the police," read the post.
