"The Equalizer" is now in theaters.

A movie with some scenes shot in Swampscott last summer is now in theaters.
“The Equalizer” hit theaters on Friday, and stars Denzel Washington playing a character named McCall, a former black ops commando who has faked his death to live a quiet life in Boston, according to a synopsis of the movie from Sony Pictures.
It is directed by Antoine Fuqua and is loosely based on a 1980s television series by the same name.

Last summer,Washington was on Magnolia Road in Swampscott shooting a fight scene for the movie.
Washington rehearsed a loud expletive-laden scene in the garage by the white clapboard home at 61 Magnolia Road.
