Noisy Chickens Awaken Neighbor in the Early Morning
Plus, a deer tumbled over the edge of the Danvers Road quarry.

At 2:55 a.m., a person reported that it sounded as though someone was drilling into their house.
At 6:32 a.m., a man called and told police that his neighbor’s chickens on Orchard Road woke him up at 4:45 a.m. that day. He said he planned to call the health department, but he was also advised to contact police if the situation happened again.

At 9:04 a.m., a sergeant and the fire department met at the quarry to evaluate a situation in which a deer appeared to have fallen over the edge and was standing on an outcropping. The environmental police also responded and determined that the risk/reward for attempting a rescue wasn’t there. The deer appeared to have sustained injuries in its fall and if it survived those injuries, there appeared to be an avenue of escape.

At 10:03 a.m., a caller reported a possible break-in.
At 9:43 p.m., a woman reported a dog in the area of Windsor Avenue was barking and had been keeping her up all night. Police did not locate a dog in the area.
