North Shore Refugee Attends Trump's Address to Congress
A Lynn Classical graduate and Iraqi refugee was Elizabeth Warren's guest to President Trump's address to Congress.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sen. Elizabeth Warren brought Tiba Faraj, a Lynn Classical High School alum and Iraqi refugee, to President Donald Trump's address to Congress on Tuesday night.
"Her grandfather helped Americans in Iraq," said Warren in a video posted to her Facebook page. "[He] helped make us safe." According to the post, Faraj's grandfather was killed, and her father was shot and disabled while working for an American development organization.
Once Faraj's father decided their lives were at risk, they began the process of applying for refugee status. In the video, Faraj said she wanted to be treated like everyone else: Regardless of where she came from.
