Return of the Scooter Panhandler; Tree Down: Swampscott Police

At 7:20 a.m., there was a report of a man on a scooter trying to panhandle at the train station on Railroad Avenue.

At 2:26 p.m., a resident reported that a false tax return was filed in his name.

At 4:45 p.m., a large tree fell on New Ocean Street, causing some wires to hang low. National Grid was notified.

At 5:03 p.m., police checked on someone on Pine Street after his boss was concerned about him. The man was fine, he had just called in sick for the day.

At 11:08 p.m., there was a report of a box spring in the road on Essex Street. The DPW was notified.

At 11:10 p.m., a criminal summons was issued for speeding and unlicensed operation following a traffic stop on Paradise Road.
