Swampscott Boys' Soccer Season Ends After Close Loss to Norton

The Big Blue made it all the way to the state Division 3 semifinal round before falling to Norton.

The Swampscott boys’ soccer team finished the season Wednesday night with a division title, but a loss in the semifinal round of the state tournament.

Swampscott fell to Norton 3-2 in the Wednesday night semifinal game of the MIAA state Division 3 tournament.

Norton, a No. 1 seed in the divisional round of tournament action, suffered no losses and only one tie during its regular season before cruising to the Division 3 south victory last week.

Swampscott, a No. 4 seed, overcame the No. 1-seeded Wayland Warriors on the way to the divisional title last week.

Swampscott finished the regular season 12-3-3.
