Swampscott Dance School Rewards Good Grades

For every 'A' an All About Dance student gets, she gets a free raffle ticket.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA – How many chocolate coins in the leprechaun's hat? How many jelly beans in the bunny's egg? Every month, the dancers at All About Dance, get to buy raffle tickets and guess the answers to those very questions. The money collected makes the fundraising meter go a little higher, while the candy won makes the smiles grow a little wider.

This month, however, owner and founder, Lisa Faia, decided to make it even easier for her dancers to participate in these monthly raffles by implementing a new policy – "AAD Pays For Grades." The girls bring in their report cards, and for every 'A,' they get a free raffle ticket to make a guess in the monthly raffle.

Hoping to use this opportunity as an incentive to stress academic achievement, Faia said, "We want our girls to know that it's just as important for them to excel in school as it is for them to do their best here at dance. That's what makes them a well-rounded citizen and community member. That's what makes an All-About-Dance dancer."
