Swampscott Little League Gets 'Tireless Advocate' as New President

The Swampscott Little League has a new president.

Joe Ford has been elected president of Swampscott Little League.

Ford takes over for outgoing President Michael Pegnato.In Ford’s first official speech as new president in front of the newly-elected board of directors, he talked about how it’s going to take a huge community effort to bring the best opportunities to the children of Swampscott Little League.

He has been a “tireless advocate for the children of Swampscott Little League,” according to an announcement by the league, and has coached as many as 3-4 team in one season and worked to make the fields playable.

The Board of Directors said in its announcement that Ford is “all about what Little League stands for” and puts the players as his “No. 1 interest.”

“Swampscott Little League’s board could not be happier for him and the league that will flourish under his watch,” the board said in its announcement.
