Swampscott Says Thank You to the Big Blue Bargains Thrift Shop

Big Blue Bargains opened their doors in January 2012 after two years of planning.

The town posted a thank you for taking the time to volunteer at Big Blue Bargains Thrift Shop. They said it would not be as successful without your time commitment.

One of the benefits of volunteering is that you receive half off your purchases. Boutique, items marked ‘firm’ and other items may be excluded.

Due to the high volume of donations keeping us busy, our lack of storage space and to keep things equitable, we have come up with the following policies when it comes to purchases:

  • Half off applies only on the day you volunteer on items on the floor and racks.
  • In order to receive half off, you must work at least a 2 hour shift
  • Payment is due on the day of purchase
  • We are no longer able to hold items without payment

We routinely mark down boutique and ‘firm’ items that haven’t sold within a reasonable time period. These items are displayed in the front of the store. If something has caught your eye be sure to keep checking back.
