Swampscott Students Honored At Emerson, RIT, RPI, Stonehill, URI

These Swampscott students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinctions.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — These Swampscott students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinctions at colleges, universities and schools across the nation.

Emerson College awarded approximately 1,058 undergraduate degrees during the 143rd Commencement at Agganis Arena in Boston on May 14. Alisia Garcia-Yanishevsky earned a BFA in Creative Writing.

Simon Lee was named to the Dean's List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. Lee is in the illustration program.

Full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400.

The following local residents were named to Clark University's Spring 2023 Dean's List:

Annie G. Overbaugh was named to first honors.

Diana Shalimova was named to second honors.

Students must have a GPA of 3.8 or above for first honors or a GPA between 3.50 and 3.79 for second honors.

Emma Tomlins earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamilton College on May 21 in a Commencement ceremony concluding the college's 211th year.

A history major, Tomlins graduated with departmental honors in history and completed an honors thesis titled "Physician Inside the System: The Botanical Contributions of Euricius Cordus' 'Botanologicon', Laurent Joubert's 'La Pharmacopee', and Andrea Cesalpino's 'De Medicamentorum Facultatibus.'"

The University of Rhode Island said Krista Dariotis, Sophia Mento, Lily Reiter and Hannah Vernava all earned a spot on its spring 2023 Dean's List.

To be included on the Dean's List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average.

Natalie Domeniconi, Nicolette Fraser and Ruairi Harrington were named to the spring 2023 Dean's List at Roger Williams University. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

Tania Shadari graduated Cum Laude from Lasell University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.

Graduates were recognized at the University's 169th Commencement ceremony on May 13.

Shadari was also named to the dean's list for their academic performance in the spring 2023 semester.

The spring 2023 dean's list includes students who have completed at least 12 credits as a full-time student in that semester and have achieved a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

The following Swampscott students were awarded degrees during Salve Regina University's 73rd commencement ceremony:

Hannah Amato: bachelor of science degree in Elementary Education.

Liam Sanphy: bachelor of science degree in Financial Management.

Harris Havlicek, who is studying Biochemistry & Biophysics, has made the Dean's Honor List for the Spring 2023 semester at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Rensselaer's Dean's Honor List is compiled at the end of each semester to recognize undergraduate students who have completed 12 or more credit hours with a 3.5 grade point average or better for that term.

Allyson Hartmann graduated with a degree(s) in Media Arts and Design - BS from James Madison University during commencement exercises in May 2023.

Hartmann was among more than 4,200 students who received undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Tyler Marshall, a member of the Class of 2024, has been named to the spring 2023 Dean's List at Stonehill College.

To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have successfully completed all courses for which they were registered.
