Swampscott Teen Accused of Driving 108 MPH in 50-MPH Zone
The 18-year-old was taken into custody Sunday night by Vermont State Police.

Vermont State Police say an 18-year-old Swampscott man was driving 108 mph in a 50-mph zone Sunday evening in Clarendon, Vt.
Acording to a statement from police, an officer was monitoring traffic on Route 103 when Benjamin J. Rossman drove a 2012 Volvo S60 past the officer at a high rate of speed.
The officer measured the speed an 108 mph and pulled Rossman over. Rossman was transported to the local state police barracks, processed and released with an order to appear at Vermont Superior Court on Nov. 30 to answer to a charge of excessive speed.

Rossman’s vehicle was towed from the roadside, according to police.
