Town Meeting to Decide on New Elementary School
A new elementary school for grades kindergarten through grade 4 will go before voters at Swampscott's Special Town Meeting on Monday night.

Voters at a Special Town Meeting on Monday night will decide whether to back a plan to build a new elementary school that will combine the town’s three elementary schools into one building.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at Swampscott High School.
The $52.6 milliuon in funding goes before voters in article 8. The town’s portion of the school cost will be $35.7 million, based on current estimates for a reimbursement rate from the state School Building Authority. If approved Monday night, the measure would also go before voters on the Nov. 4 ballot.

The school for grades kindergarten through fourth grade would be built next to the existing middle school.
