Turkey Blocks Driveway on Pine Hill Road

Residents also took up arms against the squirrels on Tuesday in Swampscott.

Swampscott, MA - The wild turkeys are continuing to run wild over the North Shore.

The less than lovely mobile butterballs have trapped postal workers indoors in some communities and on Tuesday, one turkey kept a woman trapped in her driveway on Pine Hill Road.

Shortly after 1 p.m., a Pine Hill Road resident called police and said every time she tried to back out of her driveway, a turkey would block her way and not move.

She told police that the turkey would move away and then when she tried to move away again, the turkey moved toward her rear wheel. The caller said she did not want to run the turkey over.

The police log did not note whether the turkey eventually freed the resident from her driveway, but shortly after 2 p.m., officers were called to Nathan Place for another animal-related report. Apparently, someone was trying to shoot a squirrel off a roof with a bb gun.
