Matthew Biron Makes Dean's List at RIT
Matthew Biron of Tewksbury, Mass., a first-year student in RIT's Kate Gleason College of Engineering, made the Dean's List for the Fall 2012 quarter.

Tewksbury Resident Natasha Kuegler Named to Dean's List at the University of New Haven
Natasha Kuegler of Tewksbury (MA) was named to the Dean's List at the University of New Haven for the fall 2012 semester. Full-time undergraduate students must have a 3.50 or better cumulative GPA for the semester to be eligible for the Dean's List.

UMass Lowell Honors Local Students
Local residents were recently honored at the University of Massachusetts Lowell's second annual Celebration of Scholarship Luncheon.
Honorees included:
- Stephanie Kelly of Tewksbury, majoring in plastics engineering
- James McDermott of Tewksbury, majoring in civil engineering
- Douglas Sears of Tewksbury, majoring in nursing
The celebration, held at the UMass Lowell Inn & Conference Center, brought together 300 generous individuals who have endowed scholarships and the students who have received them.
UMass Lowell Chancellor Marty Meehan told the donors and students in attendance that giving to scholarships and other areas of the university is important. "We have to be entrepreneurial in our approach to ensuring the growth of UMass Lowell and private support is absolutely essential to that effort," said Meehan.
McDermott Named to Little East All Conference Tennis Team
The Little East Conference announced its 2012 women's tennis all-conference teams and major award winners this afternoon after a vote by each of the conference's nine coaches. Salem State’s Jessica Spinale (Saugus, MA) was honored with selection to the first-team at third flight singles while Maddy Ward (Somerville, MA), Anna Yaskell (Stockholm, Sweden) and April McDermott (Tewksbury, MA) earned second-team honors.
Yaskell and McDermott also earned second-team recognition at fourth and fifth flight singles respectively, anchoring the team by going a combined 13-3 in conference. McDermott went an impressive 7-1 in the Little East this year and 8-4 overall, while Yaskell posted a 6-5 mark and 6-2 league record.
