Monday Essentials: Selectmen to Consider Date for Special Town Meeting, Special Election

Here are Five Things to kick off your week in Tewksbury on July 22.

  • According to the National Weather Service, Monday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Expect an east wind from 5 to 8 mph.

  • Tuesday there is 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with a high near 79. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Expect patchy fog before 9 a.m.
  • There is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday night with a low around 66. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Expect patchy fog after 2 a.m.
  • Wednesday there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with a high near 85. Expect patchy fog before 8 a.m. 
  • Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. There is a 30 percent chance of rain.

3. Today in Public Meetings: The Board of Selectmen will meet at 7 p.m. at Town Hall in the Selectmen's Meeting Room. Selectmen will be discussing a schedule for the special town meeting and special election required to approve bringing a slots parlor to Tewksbury.

4. Looking Ahead: On Tuesday, Planning Board Zoning Bylaw Subcommittee will meet at 7 p.m. at Tewksbury Senior Center to discuss the zoning changes necessary to build a slots parlor at 300 Ames Pond Drive.
