Dewing Students Celebrate Read Across America Day

Dozens of guest readers from across Tewksbury converged on Dewing Elementary on Friday for the school's second annual Read Across America Day celebration.

The event also serves to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss and students wre decked out in their finest Cat-In-The-Hat paper hats.

Guest readers could chose from a variety of Dr. Seuss books or they had the option to bring in a book of their own to read to the kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders.

The Planning Committee for the event included: Principal Paul Galello, Assistant Principal Jan Fuller, 1st grade teacher Kathy Carleton, Special Ed. teacher Robyn Hakala, Reading Specialist Liz Robinson, Kindergartern teacher Sarah Gillotte, 2nd grade teacher Christa Covino and 2nd grade teacher Kathy McDermott.
