Firefighters Save Man's Life, Woman Reports Meat Sold From Pickup

Tewksbury Firefighters were on the scene to save a heart attack victim Wednesday night.

According to Fire Department reports, dispatch received a call at 6:20 p.m. from a commercial building at 836 North St. regarding a man having a seizure. Firefighters from the North Station were able to respond within one minute and when they arrived on scene, they found that the man was in full cardiac arrest.

Firefighters used a defibrillator on the man and by the time he was loaded into the ambulance, his breathing and heartbeat had been restored. The man was transported to Lowell General Saints Campus for further treatment.

On Wednesday Feb. 6, a Webster Street resident called police at 1:15 p.m. to report suspicious activity. She said a man had just come to her door and was selling meat from the back of a pickup truck.

The resident described the truck as being an older model green pickup. Officers responded to the area and found the truck parked at Mavericks Bar and Grille. They spoke with the driver and everything checked out. He was a salesman for New England Gourmet.

Arrests:

Julie C. Connolly, 50, 110 Old Boston Road, Apt. 509, was arrested on Feb. 5 and charged with OUI-liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, following a report of a motor vehicle accident a the intersection of East Street and Chandler Street.

Samuel Nieves, 32, 156 Chapel St., Lowell, was arrested on Feb. 5 and charged withg operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and a lights violation.

Julian O'Neill Grulon, 20, 156 Chapel St., Lowell was arrested on Feb. 5 on two outstanding warrants.

Luis E. Luna, 22, 1195 Lawrence St., Lowell, was arrested on Feb. 4 and charged with possession of a Class D substance.

Additional Incidents:

On Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 7:09 a.m., there was a report of a water main break on Pond Street.

On Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 4:30 p.m., police received a call for an abandoned motor vehicle in the parking lot at 1 Highwood Drive. Officers responded and the car came back as stolen out of Lowell.

On Tuesday, Feb. 5, a woman walked into Police Headquarters and reported that her daughter's cell phone had been constantly ringing with calls from men looking for sex. A report was filed.

On Monday, Feb. 4, at 10:56 p.m., a man staying at Motel 6 reported that another man had stolen a $500 laptop and $150 cash from him. He described the thief as a 6-2, caucasian man.
